Zombogies Direct** E1 5b

Rockfax Description
An excellent pitch on superb rock. The start is a touch bold. Start on a belay ledge up and right from the larger belay ledge at the base of The Corpse.
Step up to a smaller ledge on the right and from its left side boldly climb leftwards from a vertical borehole with a low peg at its base, to good holds. A stretch gains a jug and further good, but concealed holds that lead up and then leftwards to a junction with the ledge at the base of the upper corner of The Corpse. Now head off rightwards following the pleasant right-trending narrow groove to easier ground and a big tree belay. Walk off or abseil from the tree. © ROCKFAX

Gear was very lacking in places, hardest move wasn't really protected and would probably end up hitting a ledge in the event of a fall. Apart from initial hard move the rest of the route was really easy at E1, with brilliant friction. Good lead by Tim.

Very enjoyable! Was bold, but none of the moves felt hard. Possibly a little bit soft at the grade? Good climbing

Felt more like 5a, climbing is pretty serious but overall route was easy for E1

Really enjoyable climbing, if the gear is a bit sparse but good when you get it. E1 but I found more like 5a ... But possibly easier for the tall? Either way great climbing

Pleasant climbing
Kevster - Lead O/S - 04/May/14 with Josh Leak

Very enjoyable - not too polished for the area with plenty of jugs. Got a nice sideways nut placement which didn't lift out, despite potential for an upward pull. Run-out in places. Good multi-peg runner tied together with clove-hitches.

Excellent. Take some small and mid-sized cams. HVS 5a? Just a little bold at the start followed by lots of great gear and lots of jugs up to the midway ledge of the corpse. Then a little runout but easy climbing to enter the top groove. Easier and better than the Lich I'd say, maybe a bit harder than the Corpse.

Nice climbing on a warm November day. Even better when I found the jug.

Hard to tell because I was on toprope, but felt quite soft for the grade.

I don't think this is soft. Especially if the low peg in the borehole on the adjacent route is avoided.

Such a good route - technically not that hard (if you ignore the tricky downclimbing to get back on route when I began to veer on to The Poacher) The gear is slim and I had to work at it to get good placements but it's pretty good when you get it. Timed it just right to avoid the heavy shower that fell as we were abbing off.
andy dunn - Lead O/S - 18/Aug/10 with J

Nice route.
Chris Sansum - 2nd O/S - 10/Jul/10 with Gary Lewin

ace route 2 stars. The gear was a bit spaced and not the best when johny started coming up on the second all my gear fell out part from 2 bits. The gear may of held a fall but didn't want to test it this is why I thought it deserves E2 5B
