"virtually no gear" (rockfax) isn't exactly correct, an early cam and a micronut (or two if you fancy) protect almost adequately. Lovely bold slab climbing, just the way I like it. The climbing is extremely straightforward, especially if you're used to slabs. Only HVS if you don't trust your micronut, E1 unjustified.

Lead the direct pitch. Felt closer to HVS than E1 as the climbing was fairly straight-forward. Some massive run outs though. Made worse due to having to bypass some good gear placements after running out of small cams lower down.

Ivan lead the first pitch. I nervously took the greasy left hand option for the second pitch. Then two easier runout slab pitches by Ivan and I in that order. Ivan finished the route with a steep alternative to the traditional route by going straight up the face from the grassy ledge (pockets followed by cracks and slab. Great outing!

my first lead of this route.done in eb rock boots and extra full weight nylon rope.rope realy dragging with long run outs.nice dry sunny day.pure joy.chickened out on the final pillar,climbed a wee groove to the right.the scramble down was interesting,nice view of suicide wall.
