An eliminate. Think we did it right. Wasn't too hard, but glad I'm tall. Started up the wall directly between two cracks, which proved the trickiest part - and a recommended way to begin!
C Witter - 2nd O/S - 15/Jul/15 with Bertie Russell

Made a real effort to stay on route with this and not reach out into the Fifth Horseman. Even so - HVS 5a? Must be harder if you are short... or something.

Stupidly eliminate. "... doesn't matter still counts!"
MSchobitz - Lead β - 07/Mar/15 with Calum Wadsworth

I reckon it would be better if more holds were eliminated.

This crag has far too many routes crammed next to each other. This is barely a line and certainly not independent. I climbed it with pebble in right hand (fifth Horseman?) and pebble in left hand. This way felt like a crap E1 5b

Orinally did a clean on-sight top route years ago when I did not know that the climb existed. Mentioned to Paul that it went ok and he duly led it clean on-sight today. Great lead. Fun climbing though very bold

Top roped it a couple of times before leading - definately feels an independent line on the lead!

Good lead by Tom after top roping cleanly

Awful. Barely independant. Worst climb I've ever done!

it is a bit of a contrived route, i went up the centre of the slab to the pebble then went high right, E2 5B is a good grade
simeclimb68 - Lead O/S - 25/Sep/10

payeo20 - TR - 25/Sep/10

Only fell off because I was too short to reach the hold. Had to step into a higher pocket to reach the edge, at a stretch!

Done this a couple of ways now, both well away from the line of Fifth Horseman, but neither of them seem to justify E2.
Andy Clarke - Lead rpt - 17/Oct/09 with Ralph

tompilgrem - TR - 26/Sep/09 with Dad

Rampikino - Lead - 13/Sep/09 with Cat

The obvious way (right hand on the pebble and reach up) is clearly far too easy to be this route! Nice done properly, though probably still nowhere near E2.

not to sure if i climbed this or the hvs to the side!!!

Thought I'd done Fifth Horseman, but was flicking through Terry's new guide and found I'd done this! Thought it was scary for HVS, but wouldn't have thought it was E2.
