UKC Logbook - 'The High Girdle'

70m, 4 pitches. A left to right traverse of almost the whole cliff. Start on top of the terrace of the pillar of The Groper and finish as for Flake and Wall:
1) 10m (4b). Traverse around Pain Pillar to a small ledge on Gaucho.
2) 20m (4b). Continue right via the system of ledges until you can belay just before The Chimney (a typical abseil route).
3) 20m (5a). Overcome The Chimney until you reach the line Asinine. Then make an exposed move to the right around the arete to a position below a small roof. At this point, swing down to join the groove of The Lilly. Continue a bit more until you reach the large balcony/terrace.
4) 20m (4b). Aim to reach the top of the flake/tower of Flake and Wall. Climb up the rest of this line to the top and finish.

When done at high tide, it's an excellent and committing girdle, on the best rock, and on the wildest sea north of Inverkething and south of Rosyth.
