Alarm bells were starting to ring when the approach involved a tedious scramble up a damp grassy slope to a what can only be described as a "fallen rock belay". Deciding to give it the benefit of the doubt, I crawled up a further few metres of grassy ledges (the rock in-between generously dusted with a crumbly crust of lichen), until I could get a better look at the meat of the pitch. Spooked by loose-looking rock, and the seeping vegetated diagonal break (presumably the footholds for the crux moves), I thrashed back down through the plantlife (with the assistance of a small tree) to the (relative) safety of the belay. Having felt a little guilty for not persevering long enough, I'm somewhat heartened to read that the second pitch is apparently even worse. The CC Llanberis guide (2009) gives it two stars, which seems unjustifiably generous. I can believe it might merit one star if it were substantially cleaner.

P1 only as P2 is ivy nightmare if its where I think it went. P1 worth doing in its own right.
