Hidden - AltLd - 17/Jan/14

Abseiled in to avoid the slopes beneath. Good ice on initial chimney, very little gear on whole route, as cracked completely iced up. Back at Gondola by midday to avoid high winds.

Hidden - AltLd dnf - 01/Mar/13

markwarner - AltLd - Mar/13

Avoided initial chimney on R so not sure if exactly on line for most of way. Ice suffering in the sun and made middle section tricky.

Abbed down but missed P1. P2 & P2 great. Zac coaching alongside on a seperate rope. mucky conditions. Excellent route. Will go back and do the whole thing.

Hidden - AltLd dnf - 17/Feb/11

Pat-H - 2nd - 11/Feb/11

Led P1. Stiff moves on the chimney section (with little gear).
Jim Slater - AltLd O/S - 11/Feb/11 with Scooby, Alan

excellent first pitch, placed peg, drive in ice-screw, #6 nut, two turfies, big sling. Unfortunately bailed due to slow rate of ascent (couldn't face missing the gondola). Not sure why ukc has this as only III. This was easily a IV (as it said in our guidebook), and conditions were pretty good for us.
ruaidh - Lead dnf - 30/Jan/11 with Zoe

great climb, hard moves on p1 through first step at getting out of chimney.

adie84 - 2011

Slow moving under powder and not much gear, followed by a nice walk down as we missed the cable car!!
mark88 - AltLd - 19/Dec/10 with Merlin Andrew

Climbed under powder, averaged 1 piece of pro per pitch. Requires some more ice/solid neve to make it really enjoyable.
Merlin - AltLd O/S - 19/Dec/10 with Mark Patterson

cjohn62 - TR - 07/Apr/10 with graeme

I lead 1st and 3rd pitch, Misha 2nd and top out. Ice and snow disintegrating, poor ice breaking away on rock sections, snow ice thin and delicate on turf sections. Rock sections hard on 1st and 2nd pitches, although well protected on 2nd, pushing 5. Very few corniceless routes.
philhilo - AltLd O/S - 04/Apr/10 with misha

Phil led P1, featuring a technical chimney crux and dodgy snow ice. I led P2, featuring a series of hardish sections interspersed with easier dodgy snow ice. Phil led through round the cave to easier ground and I finished off over the easy summit snow slope and baby cornice. Good IV, 4. Started up in the clouds but cleared up nicely towards the end. Had to leg it for the gondola - Phil was pleased to get it after missing it the previous day after a cornice epic with Su.

Hidden - Lead O/S - 27/Mar/10

A party was on it when we arrived and traversed off to the right at the first chimney saying there wasn't enough ice. I also thought it looked too sketchy, and down-climbed a bit, and climbed onto the rib on the left and rejoined the route directly above that first steep step. Regret not giving it more of a try now; I don't think it would be too much harder than the several other steep steps above it, though perhaps less protect-able. 2 full 50m pitches of good sustained climbing, another 50m of easy ground, then a short snow walk up through the notch in the cornice. Think we dropped a Z peg somewhere, annoying...

Johann - AltLd O/S - 04/Mar/10 with Harry Ellis

Soloed up initial gully, led P1 (which was really P1 + 1/2 of P2) + P3 (P3 was entirely snowslope to top). Realised halfway up P1 I had left most of the wires with partner! Seemed significantly harder compared to other III,4s I have done so I can see why an upgrade would make sense.
