20m. The easiest line hereabouts. At the far left hand end of the crag there is a short , wide R-L diagonal crack, climb this and head straight up the vertical continuation to reach the half height ledge. Move slightly right before climbing in to the vague groove above via a dodgy peg and a tricky move.

Contender for worst route I've ever done.

First visit to Split Rock Quarry. Chose this as warm up prior to attempting Certain Surprise. Very hot and humid, but the holds are all there, and HVS seems a fair grade. 5a crux is low down, leading onto the fractured ledge above. Climb with care up and right to clip (with relief) an ancient peg. The groove above is better than it looks, with a welcome Friend & wire before climbing through a tunnel of summer brambles to a welcome sawn-off tree belay! Don't know about Demolition Man - I think the Demolition on this route is complete, but today it was more a case of The Lawnmower Man...and no, I decided to leave Certain Surprise for another day. You can only have so many surprises in one day!
