I lead all pitches. Think we did it as 4 (stopped whenever I found a decent ledge and the rope drag was noticeable). The weather kindly cleared for the afternoon and the route was great fun. Found the pitch with moves on a big flake hard for the grade. Scrambled to the top with Claire practising leading. Had to rush at the top as the weather came in.

Some history and memories here. My first big climb (aged 10) Dad lead, me in the middle, Kate Quinlan bringing up the rear. No harnesses, tied in round waist, old type nylon rope. A famous quote from me being (''Dad! when i clap my feet PULL'') still brings tears of laughter to the eyes at family get togethers. A long day,got back to Hoathwaite farm campsite about 10pm. Mum going frantic!
