Toby lead the second pitch, which was running with water incidentally.

Mostly lead by Jas , i had a go at the penultimate (tough pitch0 but made a right pigs ear of it..and had to attach to Del's rope and be dragged up by an 8.5 stone lady..shite effort..but it's already motivated the fat lad to train better..glasgow ice wall lesson is booked 9first of many)

fun, FUN, FUUUUUN!! However the enjoyment of a 5 minute, 500 m bum slide down an avalanchey valley to the path made me wonder why I persist in going the opposite way to gravity...
Sam Husband - AltLd O/S - 08/Feb/14 with Robin Woodward, Ollie Willmot
Started before dawn, was awesome, then slid all the way back down to the main path at the bottom. Super fun.

bailed after ? 3rd pitch due to "heavy spindrift" (burried my rucksack under 5"...route was very hooked so easy for grade.
joe gallacher - AltLd - 08/Feb/14 with Andrew Petersen, Paul Griffiths
Seconded P1 and lead the P2 snow slope. DNF the crux P3 due to avalanches - partners hit in gulley above so retreated before I could come up.
AndrewP - 2nd dnf - 07/Feb/14 with Paul Griffiths
After seeing many teams on the day before, we went for a 6 am walk in and had a lovely climb with the valley to ourselves up until the masses started whilst we were on the thin and trudgey P3 (my lead). The crux P2 was a hook fest, but still pumpy. The highlight was the tabogan style decent path to the left.

Great warm up in good by tough early season condition. P1 thin in places but easy, good for getting back into it (first winter route of the season). P2 easy snow with bits of ice thrown in for good measure. P3 cone and pillar was funky then wet then steep - great pitch. We belayed at the trees to the right of the cone and pillar, so I went up the right hand side of the cone on weird ice flower thingies, then traversed left through the torrent cascading from above - good test for the new waterproof! The only sensible (i.e. dry) way up was on the left hand side, which was pretty steep, in fact felt slightly overhanging for a couple of moves due to the feet being undercut, but at times it was thankfully possible to bridge out onto the dodgy icicles on the left. The steep section was only about 6m high but still felt pretty tough for a 4 - I reckon it would be easier when it's fatter and it certainly wasn't a hookfest. In fact felt not dissimilar to the Devil's Appendix. Cold wet gloves didn't help! The last few metres were much easier. David struggled valiantly on the second (no doubt partly because he was carrying a hefty rucksack, which he eventually jettisoned and watched it disappear down the route) but got up eventually, though not until an Italian guide rudely climbed more or less through him. P4 easy snow to a narrow icy steepening which was pretty thin and reminded me of back home! Walked off to the side (to find the rucksack at the bottom of the route!) but possible to ab off as all belays are bolted and equipped with maillons. Led P1, P3 and P4.
