The obvious chimney/gully on the right wall of the Left Hand Branch of the Black Spout. Steep snow leads to the cornice which is usually very awkward, sometimes requires tunneling.

My my what a lot of powder. Getting there (from the car park, roads are fine) was the main issue. Not much snow in there by its usual standards - cornice took Dave about 2 minutes!

Beautiful conditions to start but full-on cairngorm blizzard on the plateau. Managed to stick my axe in my knee digging through the cornice. Crawled along the plateau for a couple of metres to set up the belay leaving a trail of blood. Good intro to winter climbing.
