Led P2. The selection of this route as 'first of the day' turned out to be a poor one. Pitches 2 and 3 were dripping wet but were clearly dry at the end of the day (the weather was warm and sunny at the end of March 2012). I put more gear in P2 than in either of the routes we subsequently climbed (both E1). Steve's lead of the (wet) final pitch was cool as a cornichon.

Did the route when it was dry. Thought the gear was reasonable (we used a few friends in places). Went slightly off route at the top and only noticed the "Crown of Thorns" (thorn bush) to my right after topping out.

Gear was rubbish, rock was wet and slimy and a hold broke on me, just managed to stay on the wall, which was good as I was 25ft above a poor horizontal nut. Glad I didnt do this when severe was my limit
