This route exceeded all expectations as a full-on adventure. The first pitch is sublime in its implausibility. The second could do with a bit of a clean and the third needs serious gardening. Almost 5 hours from leaving our bags at the top to getting back to them. I led P1 and 3. If the peg on P2 goes it will definitely be worth E4.

Half climb, half vegetable. Outrageous first pitch through the beetling overhangs. Led the second. The only indication of where the crux traverse went was a rusty peg poking out of a wall of astroturf. Spent about half an hour trying to locate and clean enough holds to piece together a sequence across the slab, but in the end frustration got the better of me and I yanked on the peg. Bits of the second belay were dropping off as Nick gardened his way up the final pitch. Trundled a big block while seconding, and gibbered to the top with the smell of cordite in my nostrils. Amazing route.
