From the base to the summit in 2 hours and 4 mins. 4 hours and 51 mins round trip from the Slig. A fantastic route and a great way to spend a morning. A little snow and some snow melt made it a little more interesting. I found a belay device at the start of the abseil off the third pinnacle, handy considering Iwas just about to use an italian hitch!

First two pinnacles were clear of snow and fairly straightforward. Soft snow made going quite tricky from third pinnacle esp. the traverse at the beginning of Knights Peak. After the abseil we roped up and pitched some sections. Absolutely brilliant mountaineering route.

Too much snow and not geared up for semi-winter ascent. Turned back after summiting first pinnacle. Made exceptionally hard work of getting to first pinnacle seeming to follow about 100m of tough moves with holds covered in snow and lots of loose rock, lots!

We walked as a three for most of the ridge so that gear could be placed if neaded (althogh I rarely placed), picthing when we got lost and I had to lead a bold 15m pitch to get back on track before the first pinicle. I also lead while on the ledge before the last peak and geting onto the sgurr nan Gillean sckramble. took a skree slope down of the summit then had to travese a 1 foot ledge with lose rocks on without hand holds and a BIG drop. Got dark before we got down to the path witch then lead us down a very craggy descent. We eventually got back to the camp at 12.30 pm. probably the longest and hardest mountain day I've ever had, the route is definitely a 3 star.

Walked as a three for most of ridge as it was windy and easier to protect if we came across difficulties! Scrambling was lovely, abseil was a bit scary but I'm very glad for the advice of the man in the hut - don't stop at the first ledge!! Where the abseil stops is actually a bit further round. Also glad for 60m rope, it wasn't much off 30m of abseiling.

Paul also led a pitch getting on the final pinnacle of Gillean itself - very very awkward rocks. I would not have soloed it. He didn't place a single piece so did a very brave solo!! Route is definitely 3 stars, beautiful.

Descent was AWFUL. We couldn't find the tourist route and ended up on a very sketchy very loose scree ledge with a big drop off side, less than metre across in parts. DO NOT DESCEND THIS WAY GO DOWN ACTUAL RIDGE. Fucking terrifying, couldn't trust anything, not to mention it was starting to get dark.

Soloed up to the abseil point, then moved together over the Knight's Peak and up to the summit of Sgurr nan Gillean. Descended down the West Ridge, then on to Am Bhastair. Very straightforward and an excellent route.

Soloed the lot bar the abseil off the 3rd pinnacle. Lovely, lovely ridge, really really enjoyed it. Descended down the West ridge of Sgurr nan Gillean which was an exciting solo at the bottom, then went up Am Bastier. Superb mountain day in glorious weather, one of the best.

Soloed as far as the top of the third pinnacle. The abseil was longer than 25m and had to downclimb the last couple of metres! Thereafter the going got quite hairy with patches of snow (that had appeared insignificant from the car park) creating considerable difficulty - should have worn walking boots not approach shoes and an ice axe would have been handy too!!! Descended via the more 'interesting' West Ridge, which necessitated another lengthy abseil. Gets my vote as best mountain day out in Britain!
