Mental exposure on the snow arÍtes. Took direct route which had a couple of interesting moves.
Maybe II if taken completely direct?
very, very wet
with BEC. Pleasant.
As part of the Ring of Steall
Quality ridge with one slightly tricky step. North to south probably better. Finished down the north ridge of Stob Ban.
My first winter route, a great day out with a couple of mates.
what a long day!
First winter route, a wee bit hairy getting round the boulder but an amazing day all round.

Attempted Ring of Steall, but hampered by slow party. Diverted to Stob Ban after Stob Coire a Mhail. Great day out.

What a perfect day weather-wise. The only great day in a whole week in Lochaber. And what do we do? We get lost that's what. Mrs MB had a bad leg anyway, so we turned back after floundering around in the wet snow just trying to find a weakness around the falls of Steall to gain the main ridge onto Sgurr a' Mhaim. I'd been really looking forward to this route (the whole Ring of Steall) and the weather had come good, so it was all set up for a great day. Gutted. We were pretty much rained on the rest of the week, so little chance of a second attempt.
Got a little lost, over shot the ridge and came down the far side of it (somewhere) and re acended up gully just after start if ridge on west side. Will go back when theres better visability.
