Conditions were good weatherwise but not otherwise. The ice pitch looked good but on close acquaintance proved to be hollow, loose, detached and generally unclimbable. Forget it until thaw and refreeze.

Led 1st and 3rd pitch. Seconded ice pitch. Found top section of ice pitch hard going. Had to put all my weight on my axe placements to get up it. Couldnt have led it. Enjoyed it though. Perfect sunny day.

a bit of a plod low down, but improved at main ice pitch, loads of blue ice, though bits were brittle, wide enough that the route could be easily wandered on to find the best line...turfy finish though...
