Wildboar Clough (winter)* II/III
[Wildboar clough last pitch, 2 kb]A series of mini waterfalls, puntuated by walking. All short pitches (3 or 4m)with reasonable rock belays. Not sure if I've graded it right. One of the pitches is more like 10m. If all pitches are climbed direct the route is more like III, though all difficulties can be avoided at II.

Ticklists: Peak Winter, Scrambles in the Dark Peak (winter).

Terrific route to get done in early April, took the easy line up one of the pitches so probably no more than grade II on that route but still great fun.
Andrew Lodge - Solo - 07/Apr/13 with Steve

Lots of ice still there on the shaded lower and biggest falls, got my feet wet falling through the pools a couple of times though. Main pitch was steepest ice I've climbed yet!
Stuart Hurworth - Solo O/S - 06/Apr/13

Nice to finish it after falling on it last year and stabbing my ice axe into my arm! Good condition.

Luke dealing with his demons after his fall last year. 6th time this season and great conditions, did main pitch twice
cragtyke - Solo - 05/Apr/13 with Paul Addison, Luke Addison

With Alex and Dave - mostly solo. Best ice i've ever seen on any of it. Bottom pitch with fat ice, second good, third good but a little thin at the top. Made life very easy.

lordyosch - 2nd O/S - 24/Jan/13

no ice on lower steps, main fall ok but a bit soft in places
cragtyke - Solo - 20/Jan/13 with garymontego

Some ice not as much as hoped, mostly verglas so some of the steps very hard

mattwomersley - Solo - 12/Feb/12

Wasn't expecting any decent ice to be honest, thought we'd probably missed the boat with temps starting to rise but it was in good nick. Met a group coming up led by Matt womersley and stuck with them on the climbs which added to the experience i think. Cheers Matt and the guys.

Missed out pitch 1 - was occupied, providing an excellent excuse. Not really enough snow, but almost enough ice.
bullybones - Solo - 11/Feb/12

very good conditions all steps climbable, plus small falls either side higher up.

Reasonable ice, some water, starting to thaw perhaps. Step 1 & 3 good, step 2 thin.

Nice little trip with some ice newbies and Matt to do the dangerous bit. A couple of 3/4 metre ice sections and a few short icy steps.
CaverPete - 2nd O/S - 09/Dec/10 with Matt Dalby

Good route, access from torside car park. Two climbing pitches of good water ice with walking inbetween. Ice was great and thick enough for screws. Warmed up in last few days though....
smason - Lead O/S - 08/Dec/10

ste_d - Solo - 07/Dec/10

a bit too much powdery snow at the moment
cragtyke - Solo - 05/Dec/10

Just two short pitches at the moment, everything else (assuming there is anything else!) is buried in powder. I led the first "pitch", about 4m of easy III. Carmen led the other, longer and easier. Cracking day though, cloud inversion and some deep powder wading across Bleaklow :-)
