Seals breed in Parliament House cave during the autumn months and climbers should take particular care not to disturb them during the time from late August to late October when the young seal pups can be eailsiy sepreated from their mothers with devastating consequences.
A large (huge!) rockfall occured at the back of Parliement House Cave in 2017 which affects some of the routes in the cave and further rockfalls are likley!
Rockfax Description
Another good route, that takes a hidden corner, at the extreme end of what is considered Main Cliff.
1) 5a, 20m. Traverse left just above sea level and move round the arete. Head on, making a hard move past a steep groove, and continuing across the wall to belay at the base of a large corner.
2) 5a, 38m. Climb the crack just to the right of the corner to a small ledge. Move up for a couple more metres until you can move left into the main chimney above the overhang. This leads to the ledge and spike belays a few metres back.
2a) E2 5b, 38m. Climb the main corner that the original route avoided.
3) 30m. Traverse right across the grassy ledge to a spike often slung with a rope.
4) 35m. As for the fourth pitch of Nightride. © Rockfax
