A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing! Tony was sure that we had trversed as far as the Pheadra recess & that the twin cracks of Nightride were above and to the left. Hence the crack in front of us must be the start of Scavenger, our chosen route. Tony had to dog his way up this crack, muttering about it being hard for 4c. I had to be hauled up it. I climbed up and right onto more amenable ground and asked a nearby team which route they were on - Big Groove! We had mistaken the block/bay below Syringe etc for that of Pheadra! As far as I can tell the crack Tony climbed has had no recorded ascents. I must have then traversed onto Peepshow and hence belyyed by the big spikes in the middle of Pentathol p2. Tony carried on up Pentathol - I avoided the "mantelshelf" move by means of a high jam and smearing/laybacking up the left wall thereby wedging my right buttock on the slopng shelf.
