2272m. From St Anton just before Bristen village, a road then track leads to a rough parking area in the forest. From here, a track zig-zags its way towards the treeline at Bristenstäfeli then continues up towards Blacki then Bristensee (some of the zig-zags below Bristenstäfelican be bypassed to take a steeper, more direct approach). Flat ground around Bristensee provide an opportunity to bivi and the stream flowing into Bristensee from the South provides a water supply. From here, look for a large arrow painted on the crags points the way onto the NE Lauchergrat ridge. The ridge provides varied interesting scrambling to the summit of Rot Bristen (2765m) then on to the summit of Bristen (3072m). Some isolated snow patches remain into the summer at some points on the ridge. The summit commands spectacular views in every direction.

Moderator addition: Generally given T5 in the SAC "alpinwanderskala" and UIAA II.
