Gruel Brittania*** E3 6a
[Henward at full extension at the cruxy start, 2 kb]15m. Another brilliant climb up the pillar in the centre of the East Bay. Bold and bouldery, but thankfully not at the same time. Crank up the thin crack to a rest on the left, then swing back right and follow the thin crack to an impasse below the top. Take a deep breath and fridge-hug up the pillar to finish.

Ticklists: Central Belt - Local Classics.

Nice one from Martin! Intimidating route. Didn't find any single move was that hard, just pumped off hanging around working out what to do next. Was chuffed that the start was relatively easy once I knew the beta with the far right high toe.

A really great route with a balancy, technical start. Sweaty today! Top actually quite well protected- certainly better than I had feared.

Hard work. Fell off the starting moves twice, both times when my foot slipped. Tricky step off the ledge and then both sketchy and necky to finish!

Good to get this done clean. A bit greasy at the top after the rain, but not too hard with prior knowledge of what to do.
salix - Lead rpt - 08/Jun/14 with Frazer

One little fall down climbing from the top section. Then, after attempting to recover, back up only to lob nearly all the way down. Biggest lead fall to date, so hopefully good for the head. Left the ropes in and finished it. Need to come back.

Good lob by Will! The route is clean and much improved by the recent gardening work in the bay.

First moves up to the ledge seemed the hardest, pretty grunty. Upper arete is great necky fun!
Dr Toph - Lead O/S - 25/Aug/09 with Ally Hill

Don't know whats happened in last four years but felt utterly desperate today, greasy, dirty and damn hard on the top arete...
