Access Banned
In June 2022 signage was installed by the landowner indicating that they do not wish crags on the west side of the dale (Griff's, Black & Deckout, etc.) to be climbed on.
Negotiations to secure access have failed to reach a positive outcome. As such climbers should be aware that the owner does not permit access to west/lower Blackwell Dale. Any climber choosing to visit therfore does so against the wishes of the landowner and should politely leave without complaint if asked to do so.

Start before the crimps on Jerry's Traverse, pull up to a pinch, then trend up left to a crimp and slopey pockets. Head left then up to the 'Spock' hold. Finish left and up to a thin sharp flake. © Rockfax

Start just before the crimps on Jerry’s Traverse, pull up to a obvious pinch, then trend up and leftwards, to a small crimp and a couple slopey pockets. Head left again to a sidepull, up to the Spock hold, then finish left and up to the thin sharp flake.
