Howling wind, big seas and 2 great friends. Will never forget this. P2 only.
Polly Harmer, Matt Burdekin
|Louis Miller||29/Apr||2nd O/S||
Second Pitch, linked from Pel. Lead by Phil Dowthwaite
The first pitch is some of the best climbing I've ever done, with the sun setting behind us. Couldn't help but shout out with joy.
|Pete Sanger||08/Apr||AltLd O/S|
|Mike W||08/Apr||Lead O/S|

The last easy climb we hadn't done on Castell Helen. Nice enough. Probably better than Pel. A slightly bold section off the middle belay ledge, exact line not obvious, though plenty of holds to choose from. Probably 1 star for the climbing and another star for the location (all the climbs on Castell Helen deserve at least one star!).
Had to rest on rope on P1 as second! Led P2 but struggled with the bold crux bit. Completely cheated at this point and protected this bit with a prussic on the ab rope that was happily there and beguilingly whispering 'use me'. Not clean.
Led steep P1 with fidley gear placements. Low in the grade.
|Ben Briggs||?/Jul/14||2nd O/S||
|bob johnson||29/Jun/14||AltLd O/S||
led 1st pitch
|wrapped in bacon||08/Jun/14||AltLd O/S|

Only second pitch. Great climbing and location
Sara, Tony Maden
|will moy||29/Apr/14||AltLd O/S||
not my finest moment to date! went off route on first pitch and had to make some committing moves a fair way above gear. Rain came in and had to escape on top rope thrown down by friends after being down there in total near on 4 hours. Rockfax give the top pitch 5a with a 'hard hand traverse' i foot traversed this and although slightly nervier was only 4c, as per ground up guide.
Joe lead,and Chris and I followed him up. Still not sure as to whether or not we were climbing the correct route.
Chris Daly-Roy, Joe Mills
I led p1
|David Kay||12/Oct/13||AltLd O/S|
Nice climb, nowhere too hard for the grade.
I led pi 1
I took the second pitch
|Jules Lane||08/Sep/13||AltLd O/S||
Led P1. One of the most enjoyable pitches I've led anywhere. As the guide says 'superb open wall climbing' - what's not to like ? Well worth 2 stars IMHO.
Beautiful climb with lots of protection. I lead P1. A bit soapy.
|Paul Phillips - UKC and UKH||25/Aug/13||2nd O/S|
2nd pitch only. Time pressing and strong breeze becoming troublesome. Hard move off the grassy ledge.
|Simon Cahill||16/Aug/13||AltLd rpt||
Hard for the grade, very happy Deb lead Pt 1, very sustained continual 4c moves at the top of the grade. Beware if using lighthouse Arete as a benchmark for the crag. We escaped of left to the Arete after Pt1 as it started to rain.
Reminded that i'd climbed this 20 years before with Nick. Lead both pitches as Will's first sea cliff, multi-pitch and abseil. Lovely.
I lead the easy P2, first sea cliff.
Lead both pitches. Awesome first pitch nice steep pocketed wall to the ledge. Then start contrast on the second pitch to quite balancey bold climbing.
|Will Sheaff||06/Jul/13||Lead dog||
P2 only as first seacliff climb.
Bit lost on top pitch - wandered onto harder ground rescued by MB
Led both pitches. Had a bit of trouble with route finding
hard for a VS - good lead from Liz
|Little B||02/Jun/13||AltLd O/S||
Glad to be last pair on the rock this day, as wouldn't have liked abseilers coming down at me on P2, but fab route and a cracking end to the day.

Steeeep and sustained 1st pitch. First trad route of the year, felt it! 2nd pitch a bit bold aswell.
Led second pitch. My first trad sea cliff climb! Saw a sea lion, ufton and skittles got drenched. Great route, awesome setting.
|Bill Lawrence||06/Oct/12||AltLd O/S||
Well closet thing to what I did, started too far left finished too far right...
Second pitch only
Ben, Simon Edwards
I tried to lead the first pitch but got lost, going too far right at the big horizontal break, then tried to come back left but was tired by this point. Came down and followed Kate up in the end.
Just top pitch after deciding to leave top pitch of North West Passage for another day.
led 1st pitch.
Led P1 2nd P2
|Si dH||15/Jul/12||Lead rpt||
Second pitch, just to get off the ledge quickly when the weather got cold. I think it was actually some combination of this and Pel and stuff in between, I just climbed straight up from the ledge.
|Charlie Zephyr Booth||24/Jun/12||Lead O/S||
|Sam Simpson||02/Jun/12||Lead O/S||
Combination of a few routes I think this being one of them
A heroic lead by Si on th windiest day ever!Great adventure!
|Duncan Campbell||12/May/12||AltLd O/S||
Cool little jugfest! Pitch one has a bird nest with egg so maybe good idea not to do this? Top pitch is nice, juggyness too.
|Andrew Sloan||12/May/12||AltLd O/S||
Led first pitch.....sustained.
Did alternative start. Loved it! Did in two halves, alternating with North Wales Passage.
|dan ely||13/Apr/12||Solo O/S|

Second pitch, not great gear.
First route of the season, bit grim temperature wise brrrrrr.
|jon clayton||19/Feb/12||AltLd O/S||
Very nice vs, if not a little bold in some sections. The gears there, you've just got to find it!
Only did 2nd pitch
|Lawrie Brand||20/Sep/11||AltLd rpt||
Celebratory route to finish a great weekend. First pitch is amazing. Led P2.
|James Oswald||18/Sep/11||AltLd O/S||
Amazing route. Felt more like HVS as I went the wrong way (apparently) up the wide corner instead. Awesome. I lead 1st pitch, James lead the second. Great weekend
Pel/rap combo. Probably the best VS combo on this wall.
|Martin Davies||31/Aug/11||AltLd O/S||
|Jonny Nick||28/Aug/11||AltLd O/S||
First sea cliff climb. Got to admit was pretty intimidated. John took first pitch and I took the second, bit of an epic getting ledge fever about half way up. Was awesome to finish though. Brilliant route
P2 only (linked from Atlantis P1)
|Lawrie Brand||22/Aug/11||Lead rpt||
We were joined by itv Wales and the RNLI doing an exercise lower to a dinghy, bit random haha
I led P1 which was fantastic open wall climbing with just the right combination of holds and protection for a little spiciness, Jim P2.

|shaun walby||24/Apr/11||AltLd O/S||
P1, excellent one of the best VS pitches ive done.
|Daniel Heath||20/Apr/11||Lead O/S||
First sea cliff climb! Awesome first pitch. enjoyed hanging belay stance. Scary runout second pitch. Walking on a ledge of grass with little gear was unnerving.
|Ashley Hold||20/Apr/11||AltLd rpt||
Awesome route - sun, sea and fun. Steep, exposed climbing with a fair number of jugs to hold onto :)
Most of my gear was good, had a sling and a cam that were just there for my head. Top section i went the slightly harder way. Amaizing rout, felt a bit sick when on the ledge as was scared and didn't trust my gear too much plus not used to climbing on half ropes.
Lead the first pitch. Great intro to Gogarth!
|Tommy Cole||02/Mar/11||2nd O/S||
Ran up this for a great finish to the day!
Led P2. P1 was quite spicy for VS

|metal arms||27/Jun/10||AltLd O/S||
Rested on P1 as I couldn't commit to a decision about which way to move.
Led P2 on encroaching darkness before bivvying out at Castell Helen. Missed the vital thread just before the big break, felt rather run out as a result.
Pitch 2 only as it swiftly got dark!
second pitch only
dont understand how lighthouse arete and this can get the same grade! this is defo far harder
|Dr Toph||13/May/10||Solo O/S||
Lovely line, thought-provoking for the grade. Take care - razorbills nesting in the break just before the belay ledge!

|Lawrie Brand||18/Oct/08||AltLd O/S||
A rather wet belay..
top pitch( trainer)mock student
somewhat unprotected. Had a 'whats the point in this' moment, and cliped the absail rope as a runner. Which is disapointing because the actual climbing was easy enough, if a little loose in places.

P1 only. In combination with Atlantis P2.
|derby john||16/May/08||2nd O/S||
very good climb was my first sea climb and I realy enjoyed it.
First route at Gogarth and had a bit of an epic. Abbed off without my rope, went off route climbing on a single and getting horrendous rope drag, sacrificed a Friend 3 to the sea and got a bit scared on the first pitch. Partner led P. 2 with no probs.
Dave and I both thought the route quite hard at VS4c
|Chris Baker||02/May/08||2nd O/S||
was an amazing climb raely enjoyed it and the views
Lucy led the top pitch of this (after I led the bottom of pel) - a bit loose at the top, but generally a quality climb
|Rich Kirby||26/Aug/07||AltLd O/S|
Pitch 2 was a little crowded and had to dodge abseilers! Nice climb though!
