Despite poor weather, this made a nice end to a good few days. Easy scrambling with good interest all the way. Roped up for the 30m corner section due to the rain although the friction remained excellent. Descended into SCNL and back to the Clachaig for a brew.

Deep snow drifts in places but bare rock in others, rapidly melting snow.

Iced up in places but generally sound, used it as a training ground for moving together roped up, though not at all necessary.

Very first winter experience. Was short roped up this by our instructor kenny. Great fun. Then went on to practice skills in the corrie.

First chance to break in my crampons and axe, about time! Tiring start to the trip as didn't get a good rhythm going.

Good, lead as a trio alpine style, a couple of icey bits, rest very easy. Had a play about on a waterfall afterwards

Beautiful weather, plenty of snow, scrambling sections iced up nicely, but all doable with one walking axe. Moved together all the way, but rope not really necessary. Very nice route up, would recommend as an alternative means of getting to SCnL.

Started off up Hidden Valley hoping for a long day up Beinn Fhada - Stob Coire Sgreamhach maybe even to Bidean nam Bean. Hah! Fresh snow above knee deep made for slow progress. Changed out minds after powder avalanches kept launching fron the cliffs above on Gearr Aonach flanks. Went up the Zig Zags instead, snow progressively deeper, mixture of plodding and scrambling and swimming! Summit was beautiful but snow was now waist deep and chest deep in places. The short ridge walk to Coire nan Lochan took over 2 hours! Threw ourselves into the Choire and surfed fresh snow to the stream and walked out. Great day but knackering.
