Chainsaw Massacre >>
A masterpiece of route-finding surfing a sea of unpleasant choss. Wholly recommended to the loud, brash and obnoxious climber as this section of the crag is both well out of earshot and grim enough to prompt an early retreat.

A rubbish description in the SD&Dartmoor guide makes it sound like the climb is further right than it really is. It must be the obvious groove and corner crack above which felt about HS. It is just a few feet right of Chainsaw Massacre. It would also be worthwhile to climb a variant finish up another crack just to the right.

Went intending to do this route ... but where the feck is it? Guidebook says groove on the RH side of the face - doesn't look to be any obvious groove that stands out from that mass of vegetated choss. Signs of recent ivy removal so wondered if the 'face' is larger now than it was? Climbed the corner/crack right of Chainsaw Massacre which felt about HS given the general demeanour of the rock thereabouts.

The only climb that isn't polished at Chudleigh?? Nice route, lots of poor protection at the bottom, and some really good stuff behind the flake near the top. Grunted my way through the crux, much to the amusement of Megan.
