10cm powder with a topping of graupel. 20cm firm compacted snow base layer weakly bonded to powder. Fantastic for front pointing though. Richard broke trail first third I took the the middle thrid and Paul broke through the cornice. Awesome. A futher 20cm snow fell the following night stopped ascents on broad gully next day due to potential avalanche

Got halfway up the line of steps towards the narrower part, before traversing across onto the main face of Y Garn, tending towards C Gully, but not quite reaching it. Nice mixed climbing on alternating rock hard neve, and solid turf. A cracking alpine esque trip.
