Ticklists: 3 star Scottish winter.

Ice cruddy in parts, very claggy snow. Shroud very noisy with melt water. 30 second heavy and fast wet snow slide right over Shroud, 4m left of last ice fall of Harrison's with debris clearly seen on approach apron below

A Fantastic introduction to Ice Climbing on the Ben if the Weather is bad but the Ice is good.

Great route. P1 rather steep but all there. Belayed on questioanable ice bollard underneath soaring chandeliers of The Shroud. P2 short lived. P3 led by my second, who took rightwards trending gangway from the bottom of the true line of ice. P4 up open chimney to belay on snow fields. P5 long and occasionally challenging mixed climbing up LHS of buttress on loose rock. Turns out last 3 pitches correspond to P4/5/6 of Cousinade. Pitched out of snow bowl and all of the way up Ledge Route due to strong winds knocking us off our feet. Long (12 pitches all in) but satisfying day.

Cracking route in great nick. Did last pitch of the Shroud before randomly finding our way to Ledge route. Well worth waiting in the queue

Good first two pitches. I led the first and Paul the second. Mel led exposed traverse and Paul led up a ramp to the right of the ice fall up onto Raeburnís buttress. Traversed off this and finished up Ledge route. Long decent down side of Carn Dearg.

2nd pitch was a bit scarey on rotten ice. The rest of the climb was great.
