Good way to finish Gashed Crag. Good exposure when you pull out onto the wall.

Nice textured rock - tricky but well protected move to gain the bubbles! Short lived.

Climbed with the first four pitches of Crackerjack.

Climbed as the last pitch of Gashed Crag. Hard to gain the niche, harder to leave it. The bubbly wall itself is easier but bold. Probably worth the 2 stars it gets in the new guide.

Rob boldly decided to lead this pitch. We'd spotted the crack in the overhang between the jutting nose and the other big overhang. Unperturbed by the thick moss and lichen and without questioning if this was really the 2 star finish to one of the most popular routes in Wales he pressed on swearing and groaning profusely, spitting moss. I realised why once I got up there! He was supposed to go to the left of the nose rather than the right. The route was steep, horrendously dirty and off balance. A large foothold sheared off, thankfully I clung on but only long enough for a sharp edged finger pocked to snap off sending me flying off. Swearing, blood, and more moss finally saw me over the overhang to greet Rob with "seriously well done mate, you crazy b**stard!" All this with vertigo on his first mountain route!
