Plain Sailing*** E1 5b
[Plain Sailing E1 5b, 3 kb]The superb crack begins at the bottom of the trough. Climb the right side of the huge block with difficulty (2 hand jams will help). The entirety of the climb offers positive holds and perfect protection with a good, steepening finish.

Ticklists: Central Belt - Local Classics.

Ran out of steam at the top. Lovely route, except for an encounter with crack inhabitants...lots of them!
Mhairi G - 2nd dog - 16/Aug/15 with Masa

Nicely sustained. Very good route. The downside is a mass of bugs in the crack in the middle sectionů It was rather both unpleasant and scary when my finger slipped in the crack because of thatů T-shirt is not recommended for that reason.

Great climb. Felt like a longer and more interesting Elgin's Crack. No real crux...just steady good moves.

Got really cold hands and took a rest before the crux. Hangover didn't help.
Fultonius - Lead dog - 10/Jan/09 with Mal Meech

Really good route. Top section was all getting a bit intense, mainly because of totally numb hands.

A perfectly formed crack climb; perfect rock and bomber gear. The route forces a range of techniques and flow of movement, creating beautiful climbing. Gets gradually harder as you move up wards but isn't cruxy, the pump arrived for the last few moves. Has to be the best e1 in central Scotland!
