Deep powder initialy on 1st pitch. Ice on the whole was poor, good neve in places. Hardly any gear to be had, think we placed 6 pieces on whole route.Placements were chocked full and also burried. Double whamy!

good snow ice on the way up the gully. I got the ice pitch which was plenty thick enough to take screws. Struggled to find a belay after though. Topped out as light was fading. All in all a great 1st day on the big hill.

A long and exciting traverse round from Tower Scoop, I led the easy first pitch and Martin again the superb second pitch on brilliant ice, he also topped out...I didn't fancy a tussle with the ever so small cornice. Superb day out on The Big Hill.

I 'led' the initial snow plod. Then Carmen got the nice ice pitch (steeper and more exposed than it looked). I then led to the top, with an exciting dig to get through the cornice, my last runner about 40m below me! Not sure if this was the normal line, as I emerged about 40m left of the trig point.
