A really good route, and with the continuation up Tower Ridge, an excellent day! Got a late start (11am at the CIC hut), but long days at this time of year so ok. Pitch 2 would have been very hard if not so stepped out. Actually found the hardest climbing on P4 (one of the "easy exit pitches') where we encountered an ice fall and icy chimney with no hooks or in fact any signs of traffic. Most people had abbed off after P2

nice route lead pitches 1 & 3, wouldn't take much thaw for the bottom pitch to be no good though. We did the first 3 money pitches and then abbed off (as suggested in the winter climbs guide) and did some ice bouldering

With RK. Two pitches of ice then an ab down 1938 Route(?). First pitch physically narrow, placing axe above axe rather than side by side, easy angled. Second pitch lovely steep ice, two steps little respite between them. An easy evening route after the slog into the CIC.
