Jon lead up to the belay ledge and then some confusion about where the route went necessitated some guidebook consultation so we split the route at the ledge and then I climbed up and traversed over the pinnacle to abseil off as the corner seemed to get quite grassy at this point. Jon's first HS lead, a good effort.
harder and slimier than it looks.
Very 'traditional' full body climbing.
Quite polished these days and a bit greasy! Harder than I remembered! Good get back on the rock after over a year off climbing! Good first pitch, top pitch pretty vegetated and chosey!
|mr mills||28/Sep/13||Lead O/S||
Stepped right on the big ledge as for Soap gut and Rib, thought the top part of the rib was quite bold for the grade !
Jiffy, Arran Glencross
Seconded scary time retrieving cam after lead got lost. Second pitch up chimney route was remarkably tricky
Not as good as I hoped it would be. 1st pitch was top end HS i felt. Went straight up the corner on 2nd pitch as per north Wales rock. Chossy as hell
|scott mayled||17/Jul/13||Lead O/S||
Nice climb, easy at the grade well protected, very polished after halfway ledge.
did the chimney finish
chris CC, megan CC
2nd pitch was hardest. Nice climb.
|David Kay||25/May/13||Lead O/S|
Very, very greasy. Looked a bit damp from the bottom but even worse once on it, probably quite good if it ever dries out!
Joe Callaghan, Will Morgan
Lead first pitch then finished on second pitch of chimney route with lots of grunting and moaning of cold fingers.
led p1, p2, then did soap crack (HVS), then up a minging grime gully, then up some random finishing wall. messy
Led 2. Bit of a vertical swamp, but not without its charms
2nd part of classic trio. Managed the mantle ok but the narrows were a bit of a struggle with a sac on.
Chris led Soapgut, I led up the thing on the right.
Did wall climb, soap gut, chimney route combo. Everything about trad that annoys me was on this route. Shame as when in good nick and before the hordes had our impact, it may well have been fun.
Wall Climb/Soapgut/Chimney Route conmbo from NW rock

rain got the better of me!
|chris smith||??/2011||Lead O/S|
|Emma-Louise Anderson||??/2011||2nd O/S||
Our first pitch to this multipitch as peaople were on the lower pitch.
Really wet and had to ab off and leave gear, not to be done in the wet.
In the rain. Desperate! Abbed off at top of main (2nd)pitch.
|NB Pixel||27/Aug/10||2nd O/S||
Never was a climb more aptly named. Good lead by Liz- 'traditional' and slimy.
Richard Haszko, DizLiz
Think we may have finished up chimmney route, got a bit lost methinks
|The Green Giant||22/Aug/10||2nd O/S||
wet and disgusting.
|Rob Evans||??/2010||Lead dnf||
Horrible place that is so polished i fell an did my shoulder in.
lamy and thomo did some good seal impressions to gain the right hand polished ledge. though i think i did the same. good climb with some funny memories
Nice corner with long runout to belay, steve led 2nd pitch from stance
Lamyman, Steve Redmond
Crux is most definately the seeping ooze, but then, this is Wales after all. Should we grade for perfect conditions or typical? Either way, top end of HS and VERY enjoyable, worth doing whatever the condition.
billy from atcp
Was very wet, horrible! Would like to do again when there isn't a river coming down it. Should have abbed off top of P2, but went into chimney.
Very wet, slimy, and green! Found it very tricky, then moved back to chimney route
mike, tim, mark
Very Slimy in some handholds. Not recommended on a wet day!
a bit wet, living up to its name
Led first pitch.
Abbed off top of second pitch
Had to yank on the first belay. Couldn't do that mantleshelf for the life of me! Abbed off after the second pitch. Cleaned the manky old tat and left a nice new sling instead.
Milestone classic done after a week of warm, dry weather. Top pitch chossy. Looks like parties all ab after clean rock

|Jim Slater||?/May/06||Lead O/S||
|Ed Babs||?/Aug/05||Lead O/S||
Did this with the 'evil chimney not to be contemplated when wet' 2nd pitch in the wet. Classic.
Liz, Clare & Tom
Peter T, Joe
Backed off after climbing the first pitch with water streaming down my arms
|Little B||13/Jul/03||Lead O/S|
Lauren Brown, Malcolm
|Different Steve||??/2002||Lead O/S||
Probably did the chimney route finish which resulted in much excitement with jammed ropes - mildly epic and exceptional value at HS!
|Ed Booth||??/2000||Lead O/S|
Warwick Hadley, Adeline Jones
Done in the rain for the sake of tradition !!

Kev did the crux pitch
Boots and rucksack in the wet.
Tony Cuddy, Dave
Big boots, but in the dry. Crux looked awful so reversed, thought about it, went back up & did it OK.
John Stainforth, Ron --?
In the pouring rain!
Bob Knapton, Tom Morrell
Went to Tryfan with Keith Norcross while staying at Ynys I led Soapgut and the Keith led GA.
