bats hiding behind flakes
Bailed on the lead. The whole wall is falling down, nearly took a lob when a melon sized lump came off in my hand. Andrew took up the reigns, I don't think a single piece of gear came out without the rock it was in moving enough to be felt (one nut came out at head height and I felt the shift through my foot that was taking my weight). Whoever wrote in the guide that this was a good intro to the grade is either having a laugh or the route has deteriorated since. Even the big 'shield' hanging in the centre of the wall is hollow and that thing must weigh close to a tonne.
