Wet, greasy rock and nearly got boots stuck in the crack....but great day out had by all. Moved together for most of it but pitched the trickier sections. Matt led the difficult crack pitch.

Started up Ashton's 'square-cut slot' on tower then his 'difficult face' out of notch (each the only grade 2 I noticed) but at his 'difficult quartz break' changed to the more detailed route description of Sparks et al - from their 'spike on the skyline' onwards. Not sure I could follow their description very far so defaulted to Ashton's simpler 'ascend the easier upper part of the ridge at will', though did not find his '10m boot-width crack'.

First grade 2! Lovely scramble, technically harder than a grade 1 definitely but not too much exposure which made it an excellent introduction to the grade. Really enjoyed this. Was going to go up Cloggy after but ran out of time.

Overcommitted on one slab, weight spread between left middle finger and right boot where I considered and was coaxed that I could still move with my full winter sack. Otherwise as hard or easy as you want or (mis)judge.
