Few suspect rocks, but what a route! So many VS routes at peak scar that are pure quality!

Steeper than I remembered. Amazing positions for the grade but the good holds just keep on coming. Real sting in the tail at the top.

Brilliant route. Felt very long and sustained but that was probably because I placed so much gear. A few interesting moves through some pretty steep ground. The finish feels very exposed and the top out onto the grass was a bit hairy!

Great route, steep with an awkward overhang to pass near the start, but all on good holds (for Peak Scar). One of my best on-sight leads to date.

Its 1973. Been climbing for 6months. Led easier routes at Peak Scar decided I was ready for VS and liked the name. Gear was engineering nuts on slings plus one 2 1b lump of 3inch steel hex bar drilled for sling but with ends left parallel (had never seen the real thing!) Footwear was black plimmies from Woolies (a la Joe Brown). Managed only one small thread runner low down and the lump of hex bar came to the top with me. Forgot to jam, used holds on sides of crack & got the hot aches half way up. Propelled to top by shear terror. Led E3/4 later in life but this one felt the hardest of all - A GREAT ROUTE.
