Wood for Trees 12/Jun/15 AltLd O/S

P1 & 3. Mainly easy climbing but climbing so good it makes you whoop with joy as you look over your shoulder at 3000 miles of sea to America.

Superb... Spacewalking... Technically straightforward but high winds and massive sea gave proper E3 feel...

I lead pitches one and three and seconded the second and fourth pitches.

Lead P2,4. Excellent route, with 4 long and interesting pitches. Requires careful ropework as a lot of weaving around the place, also some loose rock on P3 directly above the belay, though slightly less than there was! Top pitch gives a short sharp shock. Well protected here, so perhaps E2 overall.

I lead P1&3, and Viv, P2&4. We climbed after Katie and Jo. The crux (sting in the tail) is probably 5c, unless you sneakly find an easier way, which I did (in seconding)! Viv had an exciting moment there, encountering a piece of loose rock.

I lead P1 only, fairly straightforward, HVS or so. Seemed easy for E3. Brilliant route!

Did the obvious alternative Finnish heading left from the third belay to add 2 more pitches at about e3, e1 the e3 pitch is (imo) one of the best (most exposed) pitches on the crag but it must have been done before as it is such a blatent line

Led 2nd and 4th pitch, a razorbill chick sat on the belay after the 2nd. Awesome climb.

Led 2 and 4. Had to ab into a higher ledge because of a raging sea and ended up starting up Hurried Path before reaching the traverse fault which added an extra hard pitch. Guidebook crux was pretty straightforward and pitch 2 was the big lead. Possibly the best route I've ever done.

P2. Which is probably the best pitch on the route. Amazing climbing, very steady for the grade, though once you do the second pitch you are fully committed unless you don't mind abbing into the sea.

Climbed the first two pitches of this before an interesting excursion up to the Ocean Air Finish, a retreat and a final flourish up the final pitch of Ray of Light in the rain. Completely drained.
