Capturing the Coelacanth** 7b

Rockfax Description
The superb slim groove leads easily to a break on the mid-height ledge. Make a powerful finish up the thin headwall. © ROCKFAX

The top section was way too hard for me: there's a long reach for a slot that I couldn't get and the moves up to that are on very small crimps with not very good footholds. It would also be way too easy to fall off before the first bolt.

Got it first go today putting the draws in. Felt more like a flash. Did the big move without really thinking.

Got to the crux move clean then pumped out trying to figure out the move. Big old move required in the end that took several attempts before I got it. Skin was looking very thin afterwards so didn't have another go.

Big and brilliant moves. Fell off the last one unfortunately.

sadly i couldnt Capture the Coelacanth due to damp crimps. really quite liked this but the run-out is just stupid. also why not swap the starts of this and Pure Gold to give more logical lines? lowered from last bolt. cruxy.
