Did the Through Route, which doesn't require a headtorch although one is useful. Very slimy in parts - big boot territory. The pull out of the second cave is very strenuous - look for a foothold on the left wall. No idea if we finished up Flake Route - seemed pretty hard for VD. Descended via a lot of neve, which was interesting! Couldn't find the abseil off Temple of Doom.

As a four but Pete/bro climbed then Ingrid and me. I clipped Pete's gear to save weight. This was probably one of my favourite Scottish mountaineering days! Awesome. Big walk in, snow to ascend/descend, great chimney pitch/disappearing into the bowls of the mountain! Head torch via the 'Through route' is handy but not necessary which is good. Flake Route if that's what we did was tough in big boots, didn't find the ab point do descended snow with boots and pieces of slate.

Was lots harder than VD. That may have related to the difficulty getting to the start over the ice and snow and finding the start of the route. Plus the route was pretty slimy the whole way. Would have been easier dry.

didn't like the cave part - tight squeezes. Very slimy, wet and cold.

Un Poco loco had a queue so we opted for the squeeze. Interesting, though.

Wow, what a brilliant route. Loved it despite getting stuck in one of the small caves until I stripped off.

Hilariously tight. Made it through the cave and then decided to ab down West Chimney; raining so rocks were slippery (and also big and loose at crucial pull on WC). Apparently I might have been meant to go in another tunnel instead. Will be back in winter!

Lots of fun in the Tunnel variation. Just about made it through, pretty tight though. Abbed off after this due to rain and Tom leading in trainers

Had great fun on this route, though got a bit confused as to where the 'cave' part started! Unfortunately made the rookie mistake of taking my headtorch which is now in the depths of the mountain somewhere...Certainly a route for those who enjoy chimneying!

Climbed first chimney and found tunnel quite full of chockstones and loose rock. Maybe this is the natural order of things, but also heard a some very loud rockfall from within the depths. Ran away and will leave it to more experienced speleologists to prove that it still goes.

Lots of snow on the approach/descent...maybe approach shoes were not the best idea!

I think I took the through route but not sure, hard to work it out. Was inclined to trend towards the light where ever possible due to failing torch batteries! Mental climbing.

proper adventure! Climbed in winter boots. First pitch was hard. Took Tunnel Variation, and was stuck in it for ages, having to shead helmit, gear, guidebook and rope to get through. Quite a bit of loose stuf higher up.

Loved the climbing, hated the caving. I had to remove my helmet and all the gear from my harness to squeeze through the narrowest part!

jonnie3430 25/Sep/10 Lead O/S

Much better than expectations which were high already!!! My SMC Glencoe guide states that the tunnel is blocked by a rock fall. If you go to what I think is the bottom left of it you can squeeze through into the fault beyond, which can be udged up for about 15m to the squeeze hole. A-frickkin-mazing route. Squeeze below rock fall and squeeze out were only done after harness was removed!

Awesome! Not sure which variation we took. Glad midges don't like the dark. I think we deserve extra points for doing it with rucksacks!

took about an hour or so, with map, compass and GPS, to find the start after reaching the correct altitude, due to being immersed in thick cloud. mistakenly tried to climb with rucksacks, and left them in the cave before the second pitch. route-finding, and tunnel wriggling tricky. After emerging from the squeeze hole, Jelle took the lead into the gallery cave, and I had an abortive attempt from there up to the right of the arch, but retreated when I realised the block I was transferring to wouldn't hold me. After that, we ran out of food, and had no shoes to top out in anyway, so abbed off. From the amount of grisly tat on route, guess lots of people did the same. Will return with more food, and approach shoes.

"Dare you enter the crypt?" Ghouls, goblins, a hangman's noose of tat, fantastic fun and hilarity, what a squeeze the 45cm exit window is. Endless exploration possible.

Glorious mountain day wth big boots to cross the snow fields. A really unusual route, feels more like caving when you leave the chimney. Make sure you have your head torch on when you go into the first cave or there is a nasty surprise! We couldn't find an obvious VD route out from the 2nd cave to the top of the route so we eventually abseiled off.

We thought we were on Crypt route, then realised we definitely weren't. We got to the top, but we were on completely the wrong crag.
