borderline E1 5a/E2 5b. very nice - will lead next time. The Pylon King - TR O/S - 09/Jul/12 with Mr Shunt
Climbed to the top of the crack which wasn't that hard, about VS. Then began to arrange an assortment of runners in preparation for the thin crux above. Found a very good slot which was made for a rock six and was about to place a wire in it when the unthinkable happened and as I took the karabiner containing all my nuts rangeing from size 3 - 6 a cluster of three of them slid out of the loop of the karabiner and down the cliff. turned out that the three I had lost were both my size 6s and a 4. I quickly realised that the wire was going to dratically change how bold the upper section was and not wanting to risk my neck over something as stupid as dropping a nut I decided to back off and leave it for another time.
quite pissed off with myself over this but I guess if you climb for any length of time its bound to happen to you at some point so a valuable experience none the less. Quarryboy - Lead dnf - 08/Jul/12 with Rob Stanfield, Mark Davies
