Rockfax Description
An excellent climb - fully bolted and slabby throughout. The route can be done on 50m ropes with a bit of simultaneous climbing on pitch 1 although 55m ropes will make the job easier! The route follows the clean slabby rib on the right-hand side of the open valley of Baremlandsfjellet. Approach - From the parking follow the track toward the cliff then a less well defined right-hand branch until it fades. Continue in the same direction to a Hansel and Grettle house in a clearing then up steeper ground to the cliff - 15mins from the car.The route starts off a ledge with a big oak on it reached by a short scramble up the groove on the left. 15 quick-draws should cover it. 1) N5+, 55m. Climb the slabs rightwards, then direct, before harder moves lead back left. Easier climbing leads to a ledge by a tree. 2) N5+, 50m. Continue up slabs linking grooves to a couple of blank moves at about half-height. Above this, move out left and follow flakes and grooves to another good ledge. 3) N6-, 40m. Climb the slab, tending left, to reach a thin move up to an overlap. Above this keep trending left to reach easy ground and a fat tree belay complete with abseil slings. Descent - Either abseil the route or continue to the top and take the pleasant hike down. © Rockfax
