Start up Astoroth instead of Connies Crack and move L on the obvious shelving break to join Connies Crack/Snowdrop. It can be useful to take a hanging stance near the end of the shelving break to minimise rope drag although with care it can be done with the more comfortable stance higher up.

Led in one pitch which is fine if you're careful with your ropes. Astoroth and the traverse is a nice precursor to the incredible headwall. No desperate moves but could see this being pretty pumpy if you don't have good stamina! Gear is plentiful and good if you've got the fitness to hang around and place it.

Lead p2. And what a pitch! The first pitch wasn't much of a warmup and it was cold in the shade so I got a brutal cold flash pump. The climbing is brilliant though - the first section into the groove and over the roof is cool and then the cracks higher up are just mega! Doesn't look so steep from the ground but when abbing down to retrieve the kit from astoroth direct for some folk it became apparent how steep it is! One of the best E4s in North Wales!

Lead the 6a headwall pitch, what a pitch! Totally out there, no chalk, steep, lichen...

First proper route this year. Had very little expectation of success. Intimidating.

Fantastic second pitch, traversed into it from Astoroth. I had seconded it last year but really wanted to lead it. One of the best E4's around.

Absolutely awesome - wild moves through the grove and then a pumpy, over-hanging pillar of rock that entertains all the way to the top.
