P1, P2-PB Chose it cos it was iun full sun early on. Clouds came over when we started and snow on the ground at start! Lovely easy slab climbing and much better gear - i got at least 8 bits in 45m, The belay stance is not that great, but a lovely route with easy approach and easy descent from top. Gets morning sun

pure class. probably missed out the intended tiny belay ledge as I wasn't blown away by the pro, so headed slightly further up & right to a hanging belay on perfect gear.

Very heavy downpour with hailstone early morning. Clearly the weather continues to be unsettled, the others opted for Tremadog but I wanted to avoid a 4th day at this crag! The forecast was to improve so after some shopping at Joe Brown we drove round the to Idwal Cottage. The weather was improving and we walked down the old road and up to the crag which was in the midday sun and bone dry. (we were subsequently told that the Idwal Slabs were wet). The route has reasonable protection: at least 6 pro points/pitch. We climed with our sacks and then carried on to the top of CyF and on over the top of Y Garn - fabulous views. We descended the Devils Kitchen path to Lyn Idwal. It was now about 7 pm so we decided not to complete our "Alpine Day" with an ascent on the Slabs - instead we opted for an excellent curry at Llanberis Spice. A brilliant mountain day out and good alpine training.
