Turn of the Century >>
Arete left of turning the century sharing same lower off. 4 bolts. This is a rather contrived line. On the first ascent the arete was climbed in its entirety to the triangular niche. this involved a one armed mantle and was hard. the grade was a conservative estimate. You need blinkers to repeat it this way so just climb what you want. 5 plus if everything is used.

If this is a 6b, then my father's the Pope. After dogging and cheating finally got the crux by mantling off my right thumb, my right foot moving up next to it, left foot on a side hold and my left hand stretched up to a flake undercling that would look small to a mouse to keep it all together. The 6b next door was much more reasonable.

First experience of Welsh slate. Nice, but somewhat put off by Paul falling off "Sad Man Who's Sane" mid-way through my lead!

myoung - Lead - 04/Apr/10

Not sure if I climbed this "correctly", used the arete on the left for a couple of moves. However without this I would have thought it much harder than 6b.
