[These rock coloured clothes don't work so well in photos!, 3 kb]

Worth e1 for first bit,once around the bulge it's about (H)VS. Top quality route on a stunning line. USBRIT writes: On the first ascent Ross led it in Gimmer hiking boots as the Woolworth two shillings and six pence gym shoes were not great on the small sharp holds.Apart from pulling out clumps of heather on abseil the climb was led on sight.The only protection was one piton just above the crux.The crack below the crux was too big for the available pitons of that time.

Opening moves felt hard for 5b but it was a little greasy and seepy which may explain it. Opening moves are nails but amazing. Eases up as you get higher. Take lots of small gear!

had seconded alan on this some years ago - couldnt remember a thing about it though, could only tell been on it before from the note in my guidebook. I led main pitch, guido led the second. good gear, and not strenuous.

A few awkward moves in the damp, and I'm glad I brought my balls along, but it's a brilliant route. Was a bit unsure about pulling on the big spike at the edge of the mini-cave at 3/4 height - looked like it wasn't quite as well attached as it might be...

Fell one move from the top when my foot slipped off a small hold covered in pond slime. Caught by first piece of gear (bad friend 2 loaded on 2 lobes) Abbed down to get gear. So nearly first e1, but first trad fall instead :/
