Excerpts From Guide Book: "Via Ferrata in France - A Complete Guide" - ISBN: 1-871890-97-7

"A little jewel and a real summit, all mountain lovers will be charmed by the airy atmosphere of the via ferrata du Roc du Vent, set high above the waters of Lac de Roselend, against the backdrop of Mont Blanc. Also includes a pre-war tunnel.

Start up some great sloping slabs, following shallow-angled corners. Pass a terrace (on the right is the tunnel exit) and continue more steeply to the grassy summit slopes. Below is the Vire des Bouquetins (ledge) which leads to the tunnel entrance.

From the summit, follow the crest of the ridge north-east; using steps cut into the rock, descend into a gorge, cross it and climb the isolated tower. Walk across the top of this to the Hymalayan Bridge. (It is possible to avoid the tower and the bridge by following a path in the gorge to a short chimney, 20m beyond the Himalayan Bridge). From the other side of the bridge, cross the top of La Gittaz and descend s steep gully to the Vire des Bouquetins, which leads to the tunnel entrance. Go through the tunnel and join the descent path.
