This via takes its name from its proximity to the waterfall called La Cascade de la Fraîche. Although short, the via ferrata is possibly in one of the loveliest situations of all, with its bridge suspended high up between the orange granite and the raging torrent.

Climb a first rampart. From there, either go to the right up a wall beside the waterfall, or left (easier - take this route if the waterfall is in spate). Some slabs then lead to a monkey bridge.

There are now three possibilities: a) climb a vertical rampart (to a summit); b) follow the right bank of the river along a series of fine traverses until you reach a wooden bridge (1,575m); c) cross the monkey bridge and climb to the top of the route at 1,580m.
