i lead P1,2 masa led crux. belayed on right in small cave, fell on final crux move. I lead P's 4,5,and most of 6 (rope ran out) masa finishes last 10m. long day thin conditions, apparently more like 5/5+ night time retreat.forgot head torch :-(
gb83 - AltLd O/S - 17/Dec/08 with masa

Greame lead P1, P2, P5 (moving toghether), P7, and I did P3, P4, P7. I took a fall in P4, just 4 metres below the end of the long hard section, pretty pumped. Descended with one torch in dark.
masa-alpin - AltLd dog - 17/Dec/08 with Graeme B

I led the second pitch and almost finished the third. I battled with the harder line on the left hand side (WI 4+) of the third pitch for about 90 minutes without resting on the gear. There were 9 climbers coming up behind me to do the pitch. When I reached the top I planted both axes over the lip, the impact of the second axe caused a block the size of a 20" TV to break off and I fell 15 metres dislocating my collar bone.
RocknRoll - AltLd dnf - 10/Jan/08

Quite steep on crux pitch, but only for about 8m,rest is fine and fun....
Chad123 - AltLd O/S - Feb/07 with Emily

Retreated after i had lead the 3rd (crux) pitch as nick fell off seconding it and left his axe above him n i had to get it out on the ab back down
Somerset swede basher - AltLd O/S - 06/Jan/07 with Nick Roberts and Dave Barter

First 2 pitches only as 3rd pitch wasn't in best of conditions and spat the second off.

La Grave was empty in the early days. Only saw 2 others all week - they were Brits too! Remember banging snargs in and the whole pillar vibrating! Took refuge in a wee cave just below the top before finishing the pitch.
Tim Sparrow - Lead - Feb/97 with Geoff Thomas
