66m, 4 pitches. Pleasant but polished climbing up the left arete of the Tophet Wall area. A good, all weather route. Start at the bottom of a broken arete around to the left of the steep Tophet face.
1.) 20m, easily up the arete to a grass ledge, then climb the steep corner on the right to a rocky platform. It is possible to avoid the corner by the steep wall on the right, followed by easier ground to the rocky platform.
2.) 17m, climb the slab above for 8m to a ledge, then step left round the corner and up the arete to a stance.
3.) 12m, step right and climb straight up to the bottom of a groove at 7m. The groove above leads direct to the top or can be avoided by the easier crack on the left. From the belay scramble up steep grass to the obvious feature of the Sharks Fin high on the left.
4.) 17m, starting from the right climb the edge of the rib to the foot of a crack, which is climbed on its left wall, exiting left at its top.

Unsure of where the start was but it was 'only a VDiff'. Went of route and got loads of rope drag. A bit embarrassing really. Great view from the top, had the crag to ourselves.

Climbed in boots (training for Alps). Linked first two pitches on lead but didn't complete Sharks' Fin as getting very late. Will return when Tophet Wall is free.

Very windy, very cold. Had to put gloves on halway up pitch 1 so that my fingers warmed up again so I could feel the rock. A bit of an odd route as one of the pitches seemed to be grass instead of rock!

slippery in places, a few worrisome moves. But a great climb for a less-than-perfect day.

went too far to the right and climbed a series of hideous crimps with micro gear, s made all the more challenging by the sucking rope drag. very easy to get lost on this one!

This is a sandbag at V.Diff: Hard Severe would be more realistic, and it's also much longer than the guide book suggests. A highly enjoyable outing none-the-less.

Led P1, 3, 4 (and 5). Descemt is interesting off the back. VDiff!!!! After P1, maybe. Steep corner at least a Severe (scared, but enjoyed hugely). Although protection is bomber and exactly where it's needed. Rocky ledge a bit cramped for a long cold belay ... best trying to sit down. Final (sharks fin) pitch, a real classic.

Wanted to do Tophet wall but it was occupied by someone failing to do p1, so went round to do the bastion. Wind got up, had to abb off, inadequately dressed, getting hypothermic on belay.

Fours hours on route - cold & wind - the Sharks Fin caused me to retreat, I will return!
