Starts at the Fujinomiya 5th Station (2400m). The grade is for a winter ascent (Alpine F). The route follows the summer path through the various stations, gradually increasing in steepness. Having reached the crater rim, turn left to climb to the highest point of the mountain. Depending on conditions, the whole route may be on snow or just the final few hundred metres. The snow is likely to be very hard and the wind can be incredibly strong.
