Once again walked in expecting to do a mixed route so no icescrews. Barry took a 10m whipper onto a cam and I managed to lead up after using a warthog as a drive-in at one point. Most ice I've seen in Lochain for a while.

Lead final snow slope. Fell repeatedly seconding the hard bit, cracking day.

Andy led the first pitch, I got the easy unprotected snow slope to the top. Old guide has this as IV 4 but I think V is more like it, especially in thin conditions like this. Good lead by Andy.

Steep ice sections were straightforward but pulling over onto the snow ledges above was interesting trying to get axe placements in powder - ended up ditching tools and punching forearms in instead. Excellent route though.
