Fantastic day, but unfortunately catching a lot of sunshine, but having said that thfe ice was in great nick with good placements and taking good screws. It felt more like climbing an alpine face.

Really fat but very brittle ice on P1. Did in three pitches plus moving together on the easy finishing snow slopes. Started a bit late, so in an attempt to save time tried to go round the final ice fall on P3 but what looked like an easy mixed groove proved to be quite tricky with very little gear (good IV) - ended up having to simul climb for about 20 - 30 metres, fortunately I got to a sling belay just as Paul got to the start of the difficulties in the groove! Rejoined the usual finish on the easy finishing slopes. Led P1 and P3. Superb!
